Mourinho criticizes his players after United`s defeat

CAIRO – 22 December 2017: Manchester United lost 2-1 to Bristol and as a result was eliminated from the Carabao Cup in the quarter-finals.

Manchester coach Jose Mourinho decided to leave the bench out of anger before the final whistle of the referee.

Mourinho tried to skip the press room and avoid meeting with the media B,ut he was not able to escape one of the journalists.

The United coach could not pass and answered the questions of the reporter in just two minutes.

"It's been like another day in the office, and some of us probably did not even want to go to the office today," he said, criticizing the players.

"Bristol had a bit of luck and fought hard to have that bit of luck, winning the match at a time when we did not have the chance to react," he continued, according to the Spanish newspaper Sport.

Bristol City scored their second goal in the 93rd minute with a perfect shot, taking advantage of the fact the Red Devils were not very active in the game.

Later, Mourinho agreed to speak with Sky Sports and the official television of Manchester United.

"For the big teams, it is always a risk. We warn, but ultimately players are at a different level of intensity. They played brilliantly and fought like it was the game of their lives, and probably it was. It is a nice day for football," he reflected.

Bristol City passes to the semi-finals of the English League Cup, where they will meet Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in a two-match eliminator. The first leg will be held at Etihad Stadium.

The other place in the final will be held by Chelsea or Arsenal.
